Global ecommerce growth can’t be achieved without providing extraordinary customer experiences

Is your solution design simple yet sophisticated enough to help you reach your global growth objectives?

Danny here, co-founder of Arkade. I talk to a lot of C-suite decision makers about their brand’s current ecommerce customer journey. Dynamic brands are capitalising on a shift away from complex platforms/solutions that require heavy investment.

Instead, they are moving toward simpler, specialised, cost effective solutions that can be integrated, managed, optimised and most importantly owned by their internal teams.

In a 30 minute phone call I can help you understand how to design extraordinary customer experiences that:

  • Where possible (and it usually is) leverage the platforms you already have in place

  • Utilise best of breed platforms that are lightweight yet powerful and provide room to grow

  • Grow your internal teams capability to participate in design, platform selection and ownership of the solution ongoing

  • Are aligned with your organisation’s objectives and the value the initiative is expected to deliver

  • Foster a culture that focuses first on the customer. Less frequently reverting to using customers to solve business problems rather than looking for new ways to use the business to solve your customers problems

Case Study

Headless Shopify Plus eCommerce solution delivers platform for global growth

It all started when….

the denim house taking the world by storm partnered with Arkade to deliver a genuinely headless and customer-centric eCommerce experience for brands Rolla’s Jeans, Neuw Denim and Abrand Jeans.

Arkade and ThreeByOne delivered three global, context-aware websites that switch between regions, currencies, content and collections without customers blinking an eye.

Founded by three friends…

from Melbourne and Stockholm with a shared a love of denim culture, ThreeByOne have developed three socially conscious denim brands that helped to shape the sustainable fashion movement globally. Their passion for original thinking and a rejection of unethical practice opened the way for their jeans to become Australian icons across the globe.

They embarked on a journey with Arkade to meet growing international demand and reduce the complexity associated with product information management, merchandising, content and customers across websites and countries.

This, coupled with a desire to create an eCommerce experience that exceeded the functionality of existing eCommerce platforms, brought the Arkade and ThreeByOne teams together to solve for five specific challenges.

Challenge 01

Resolve issues and limitations for integrations between eCommerce, ERP and Comms platforms

Solution:

Using headless architecture, with a microservices approach, each platform in the ThreeByOne toolkit has been selected to meet the customer’s and the business’s specific requirements without compromise. Creating a leaner and more efficient technology stack and highly customised digital experience.

Challenge 02

Create Content-first experiences - with stories at the heart of every touchpoint

Solution:

ThreeByOnes products and their stories are at the heart of the brand, with a decoupled Prismic CMS implemented in concert with Shopify Plus and CIN7 they can now use inspiration and seasonal content to showcase their brand identity across every touchpoint.

Challenge 03

Deliver a customised location and context-specific front-end website experience

Solution:

With intelligent and discrete context-switching, ThreeByOne have expanded into multiple countries and zeroed in on D2C relationships without the complexity of multiple stores. While the backend manages separate brand catalogues, collections and currencies per region the frontend seamlessly displays content specific to the customers location.

Challenge 04

Widen the pool of team members that can contribute to website content without in-depth technical skillset

Solution:

Decoupling the front end from the supporting backend services has made creating and editing content simple for the ThreeByOne team. ThreeByOne can now create highly customised pages without the help of engineers, allowing them to produce rich content quickly for new opportunities, such as event landing pages, inspiring articles and campaign-specific offerings.

Challenge 05

Increase flexibility for future innovation

Solution:

With a headless, microservices architecture, ThreeByOne no longer have a platform specific front-end. Instead they have a Threebyone front-end that is a platform agnostic asset of the business. This breaks with the traditional website rebuild every 3-5 years approach.

Being able to create new customer facing services/experiences independently of the existing platforms in place, ThreeByOne are not locked into the cumbersome technology choices and long term commercial commitments that many organisations are.

Instead, as new possibilities emerge, the ThreeByOne team are able to efficiently assess them and implement improvements cost effectively. ThreeByOne can continually invest in their customer facing services/experiences knowing they are growing an asset that won’t have a used by date.
